What We Offer Our Members...
The annual Trustee Institute, held each May, is a weekend workshop with sessions for trustees with all levels of experience. Topics include information on policy making, budget building, greening your library, library director evaluation, branding your library, teen programming, fund raising, and legal issues.
This useful publication offers a concise explanation of the roles and responsibilities of library trustees.
Our quarterly newsletter, mailed directly to LTA members, covers library news pertinent to trustees. It shares library issues and trends affecting library service.
All trustees are welcome to post questions, seek advice or give opinions on our listserv: email@example.com. If you are a trustee or director in NYS you are probably already a member of this group. If you are not able to post a message, please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org and ask to join.
Library Advocacy among State Leaders
We are the voice in Albany of the citizen volunteers who make public library service possible. We bring the concerns of public library trustees to state leaders, and we participate in the formulation of public library policy.
